Clan claim top spot in NSCAA/Continental Tire Rankings

9/17/2013 2:27:00 PM

Kansas City, KS - After two wins last weekend, including a convincing 9-0 victory over Trinity Lutheran on Saturday, the Simon Fraser University men's soccer team has moved into the number one spot in the NSCAA/Continental Tire rankings.

The Clan take top spot away from last week's number one Lynn University who fell to sixth after a tie against Palm Beach Atlantic last week.

SFU is now 4-0 through the non-conference portion of their schedule as the Clan went 2-0 in California when they defeated the Cal State East Bay Pioneers and the Holy Names Hawks and 2-0 in non-conference play at home when SFU defeated the Hawaii Pacific Sea Warriors and Trinity Lutheran.

The Great Northwest Athletic Conference season begins on Thursday when the Clan are in Billings, MT to face the Montana State University Billings Yellowjackets in their conference opener.
