9/6/2014 11:20:00 PM

Box Score Burnaby, BC - The Simon Fraser University volleyball team moved to 4-0 in non-conference play, completing their sweep of non-conference action with a three sets to zero victory over the Capilano Blues.

The Clan stormed through the first set, winning 25-11 before taking the second set 25-14 and the final set 25-17.

"I think it was a great way to prepare for the next tourney," said Head Coach Gina Schmidt. "It's tough to play four matches in three days and we stayed focused. I was happy with our ball control and defence which helped us run the things well offensively. I look forward to our matches next week in California."

Kelsey Robinson (Surrey, BC) led the team with 12 kills in the match.

Allison McKay (Port Moody, BC) led the squad in digs with 10 and Brooklyn Gould-Bradbury (Lake Trapps, WA) led with 23 assists.

The Clan played four games this weekend, sweeping three of them and winning 12 of 13 sets.

The win this evening improves SFU's record to 4-0 in non-conference play, through four games.

Next week, the Clan will be in San Rafael, CA to play another tournament with games against Fresno Pacific, Chaminade, Dominican and the Academy of Art.
