PORTLAND, Ore. – Simon Fraser University sophomore
Elisa Homer, who is fourth in the conference in scoring, was today named to the 2015-16 GNAC Women's Basketball All-Academic Team.
Homer, a redshirt sophomore, carries a 3.61 grade point average in business. The North Vancouver native is one of 50 selections to the 2015-16 GNAC Women's Basketball All-Academic Team.
On the court, Homer averages 16.6 points per game, and is one of the top three-point shooters in NCAA Division II. She is third in Division II in three-pointers made per game (3.78), ninth in three-pointers attempted (220) and sixth in total three-pointers made (87).
Simon Fraser (13-10 overall, 11-7 GNAC) sits in fourth place in the conference and has clinched its spot in the GNAC Women's Basketball Championships in Lacey, Wash. beginning on Mar. 3.
SFU plays its final two regular season games on the road this next week, Thursday at Alaska Fairbanks, and Saturday at Alaska Anchorage.
To qualify for the GNAC All-Academic teams, a student-athlete must be in their sophomore year of eligibility with a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or better.
