ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Simon Fraser University extended its winning streak to four games with a 56-48 victory over Central Washington University in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's basketball game on Saturday.
Simon Fraser has now won four straight and seven of its last nine games to improve to 11-8 overall and 9-5 in the GNAC. Simon Fraser sits in fourth place and a game above Central Washington in the conference standings.
The Wildcats are now 15-7 overall and 8-6 in the conference.
The Clan was zeroed in offensively in the first half, shooting 59.26 percent from the field, including 4-for-8 from beyond the three-point line. The Clan built an 18-point lead at the half after the Wildcats shot 27.6 percent from the field.
Central opened the third quarter with a seven-point run, closing the gap to 38-27. The Wildcats kept the Clan off the board in the third quarter until
Elisa Homer hit a three with 4:18 left in the quarter.
The Wildcats mounted a comeback in the fourth quarter that brought the game to 50-41 but the Clan held on for the 56-48 win.

Ellen Kett, the NCAA D2's top three-point shooter, was three-for-three from beyond the arc and had a game-high 19 points and seven assists. Homer and forward
Rachel Fradgley scored 11 points apiece.
Central shot 41.38 percent in the second half, finishing with a 34.5 percent on the evening. The Clan held CWU to one made three-pointers on 17 attempts.
SFU was 22-of-50 from the field and seven-of-15 on threes.
The Wildcats' bench contributed 22 points, while holding the Clan's bench to just nine.
Mandy Steward finished with 16 points for CWU.
SFU's next home game will take place on February 11th at 7PM in the West Gym vs Saint Martin's.
