BURNABY – Free courtside haircuts and an encore performance from the MEI Screaming Eagles Marching Band provides the backdrop for the SFU men's basketball game on Tuesday (7PM) against rival and conference-leading Western Washington.

At Tuesday's home game in the West Gym, the MEI Screaming Eagles Marching Band will perform during timeouts and at halftime. In addition, stylists from Azzi Hair Studio, located in the Cornerstone Building on campus, will be courtside offering courtesy haircuts to fans on a first-come, first-served basis. Tipoff is 7PM.

The Vikings won their sixth consecutive game on Saturday to improve to 11-3 overall and are in first place in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play at 6-0. Simon Fraser came within a free throw with 0.1 second remaining of winning back-to-back home games against GNAC opponents for the first time in three seasons.

The Clan enters the game with a 6-2 home record and one of the hottest players in NCAA. SFU senior guard Kedar Salam was selected GNAC Player of the Week after he averaged 33.5 points and six rebounds in a pair of home contests. Salam went off for 40 points in Thursday's 91-78 win over Central Washington, becoming just the third player in SFU's NCAA era to score 40 or more points. He connected on 11 of 19 from the field, 6 of 9 from three-point range and was a perfect 12 of 12 from the free throw line.

In Saturday's 82-81 loss to Northwest Nazarene, Salam again led SFU with 27 points on 11 of 22 from the field to go along with six rebounds and five assists. Salam finished the week shooting 53.7 percent from the field. He is the first SFU men's basketball player honored since Sango Niang on Jan. 19, 2015 as the Clan improved to 8-6 overall, 2-4 GNAC.

Salam is one of three players on the Clan averaging double figures. JJ Pankratz averages 15.5 ppg and Iziah Sherman-Newsome is averaging 12.6 ppg.

WWU is coming off a 77-67 Great Northwest Athletic Conference victory over Central Washington Saturday night in front of 2,175 fans in Carver Gym. Three WWU players recorded a double-double for the first time during the 20 seasons playing at the NCAA Division II level. The Vikings are the No. 3-ranked rebound margin team in NCAA II.

Trey Drechsel led the Vikings with 18 points, 11 rebounds while Daulton Hommes added 17 points and 10 rebounds and Deandre Dickson added 15 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.

The SFU women's basketball team will also play two home games this week on Thursday against Saint Martin's and Jan. 13 vs. Seattle Pacific. Both home games are 7PM tip-offs.

The women's basketball team is 7-7 overall
