Box Score 2 LAS VEGAS, NV --- On Day Two of the Desert Stinger, Simon Fraser Softball recorded another 1-1 split of the day, with a tight 7-6 loss against the University of Mary before securing a 13-3 win over Academy of Art in the nightcap.
In game one, Simon Fraser jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the 4
th inning, but a massive 5-run 6

Hanna Finkelstein managed to have very solid games at the plate, as Ogg went 4 for 4 and Finkelstein went 2 for 4, with each also recording an RBI in the contest.
In game two, Simon Fraser's offense exploded, putting up 13 runs in just 5 innings.
Amanda Janes was 2 for 2 at the plate with 5 RBIs, while both
Kate Fergusson and
Alex Ogg went 2 for 4, each adding 3 RBIs of their own.
Julia Hansen also put in a notable pitching performance, going five full innings while allowing just one earned run, three total runs, and one walk. Hansen also recorded 2 strikeouts.
Head Coach
Tina Andreana shared her thoughts on day two from Las Vegas: "The team had another solid day offensively, swinging the bat strong and putting good numbers on the board. We struggled a bit defensively and lost a close one in the first game. Came out strong for the second game in the circle, and offensively again. So, we're looking to put up those kind of numbers again today to win the weekend."
Up next, SFU faces San Francisco State University to wrap up the Desert Stinger on Sunday (Feb 2nd) at 2PM.
