Alex Ogg steals two bases to become SFU career leader in stolen bases

NAMPA, Idaho – Senior Alex Ogg stole two bases to become SFU's all-time leader in steals and Hanna Finkelstein and Megan Duclos hit homeruns to lead Simon Fraser to a 10-7 win over Northwest Nazarene in the second game of a Great Northwest Athletic Conference softball doubleheader at Halle Field. SFU lost the first game 5-0.

Ogg stole two bases to move past Erin Mclean to become the school's record-holder in stolen bases. Ogg also tied the SFU single season record with 21 stolen bases this season. The GNAC record is 33.

With three hits in the game, Ogg moved from sixth to fourth on the SFU all-time hit list with 183 career hits, trailing only Erin Gee (185) and co-leaders Angela Lichty and Taylor Lundrigan (202).

It was quite an offensive performance for SFU who generated two runs in the third inning, four runs in the fourth, one in the sixth and three in the seventh, and then held off a Nighthawks seventh inning rally in which they scored five runs to make a game of it.

Megan Duclos provided the winning margin with a three-run home run down the left field line in the seventh. It was her second homer of the season. Hanna Finkelstein had opened the scoring with a two-run blast—her seventh of the year—over the left field fence.
