BURNABY, B.C. – The SFU Red Leafs men's soccer team stretched its unbeaten run to six matches and its winning streak to three after a 3-1 Great Northwest Athletic Conference win Thursday at Seattle Pacific. Senior forward
Devin O'Hea (North Vancouver, B.C.) and junior midfielder
Hamish Ogden (Port Moody, B.C) posted early goals for Canada's NCAA team, before freshman forward
Koji Poon (Vancouver) made it 3-1 late.
SFU (6-2-2, 3-0-1 GNAC) has scored 11 times in its last three games.
O'Hea put the Red Leafs up 1-0 in the 10th minute, placing a shot to the lower right of the net on a penalty kick. It was the third goal of 2023 for O'Hea.
Just eight minutes later, Ogden got his first NCAA goal, scoring from about 17 yards out with a shot to the lower left side of the net past diving SPU goalkeeper Cam Welty.
The Red Leafs took a 2-0 advantage into halftime, and maintained it until the 74th minute when Jackson Goode of the Falcons recorded his first marker of the year.

SFU rookie Poon drowned out any thoughts of an SPU comeback in the 82nd minute. Following a yellow card to the hosts' Donovahn Allen, Poon one-timed a deflected free kick for his team-leading seventh goal.
The Red Leafs outshot the home side 11-5, and 5-3 in chances on net. The Falcons had a 6-2 edge in corner kicks. A total of eight yellow cards were handed out, with Seattle Pacific taking five.
Senior goalkeeper
Justyn Sandhu (Richmond, B.C.) made two saves guarding the SFU net to earn the victory.
The Red Leafs' next game will be a first-place showdown with Western Oregon Sunday at noon inside the SFU Stadium at Terry Fox Field. The Wolves currently lead the GNAC standings with a 4-0-1 record, while SFU is 3-0-1. The teams drew 2-2 on Sept. 28 in Monmouth, Oregon.
