The Simon Fraser Red Leafs (16-12, 9-7 GNAC) made it four wins in a row and seven in their last eight with a 77-69 triumph on the road against Seattle Pacific.

It was a tight battle throughout, but the Red Leafs were able to hold a slim lead and play from the front for the majority of the night.

Sophia Wisotzki dropped a career-best 32 points, the third time in the last month that she's scored a new career-high.
Gemma Cutler double-doubled with 16 points and 11 rebounds while
Myrlaine Shelvey had 14 points and five boards off the bench.

Olivia Mayer led the way for the Falcons with 19 points and 11 rebounds while Schuyler Berry recorded 20 points, five rebounds and three assists.

Arman Dulai and Wisotzki got SFU going with back-to-back triples to begin the game, but the Falcons fired back with a quick 7-2 run to take a slight lead early on.

The two teams traded buckets for much of the opening quarter, before the Red Leafs pushed their lead out to six in the final minute of the first off a jumper from Wisotzki. Mayer scored for the home team at the buzzer to cut the SFU lead to 21-17 at the break.

The Red Leafs' defense was on point for a lot of the second, holding the Falcons to a four-minute stretch with just two points in the middle of the quarter.

A layup by Cutler made it 33-26 for SFU, but the Falcons fought back and cut the lead to as little as one late in the frame. The first half ended with the Red Leafs up 37-34 and continuing to hold their small lead.

The third was the best quarter of the night for the Falcons, as they came out hot with a 9-2 run to take the lead. SFU then responded with three-pointers from Dulai and Shelvey to regain the advantage.

The Red Leafs closed the quarter well, with a bucket from Shelvey and a buzzer-beating putback off her own miss from
Grace Killins which sent the visitors to the final frame up 57-51.

The Falcons still weren't done, making a big push in the first half of the fourth and taking a 68-65 win with just four minutes to play. But that's when Wisotzki fully took over – she scored 10 of the Red Leafs' final 12 points, while the Falcons scored just a single point in that stretch.

th career win for head coach
