It was a busy and successful weekend for SFU Men's and Women's Wrestling as the Red Leafs competed at the Missouri Valley Open in Marshall, Missouri on Friday and Saturday, followed by the Spokane Open in Spokane, Washington on Sunday.

Missouri Valley Women's Open
The Red Leafs women's team delivered an outstanding performance in Missouri. Julia Richey dominated the 207 lb bracket, capturing 1st place after a hard-fought 2-1 victory in the final match. Joining her on the podium were Liv Weiber and Agnia Krakosova, who each earned top finishes in their respective weight classes, showcasing the depth and strength of SFU's women's program.

Spokane Open
The momentum continued in Spokane, where SFU wrestlers combined for seven podium finishes.

• Women's Team Highlights
  • Mary Rush claimed 1st place in the 131 lb bracket.
  • Rupi Johal secured another 1st place finish in the 180 lb bracket.
  • Aliza Price added a 2nd place result in the 131 lb bracket, rounding out a stellar showing for the women.
• Men's Team Highlights
  • Hugh Wheeler (165 lb), Caius Harbeidge (174 lb), and Tejvir Dhinsa (197 lb) each earned 2nd place finishes.
  • Owen Gudmundson battled his way to a 3rd place finish in the 184 lb bracket.

 
Next up, the women's team heads to Alamosa Colorado for meets with Fort Hays State and Adams State on Monday, December 1. The men's team next competes at Corban in Salem, Oregon on Saturday, December 6 at 7:00 pm.
