Height: 6'2"
Club Team: Ducks Volleyball Club
Schmidt: "Serena comes from a volleyball family and has grown up around the game. She brings an extra element of physicality to the setting position which makes her an offensive threat every time she's at the net. Serena's experience at both the Provincial and National Team levels will be a valuable asset as she transitions to the NCAA game."

Serena Gentile has represented her province for several years, competing at several National tournaments. At the 2018 Canada Cup, she was a member of the Team BC Select U18 team that capture a gold medal. She also earned a silver medal at the BC Summer Games in 2016 and was a 2014 provincial club team all-star. 

In 2017, Gentile was selected to represent the Canadian Youth National Team at the US High Performance Championships in Fort Lauderdale, FL and won a silver medal. At SFU, she plans to major in Psychology with a plan to pursue a career in sports psychology or personal counseling. 

Why SFU?"I chose SFU because the University has a good reputation and the volleyball team plays at a high level. Gina and Rob are good coaches and I also like the fact that Division II emphasizes a good balance of school and athletics."
