Tutoring Assistance

Request for Tutoring Assistance

Fill out request a tutor to request tutoring assistance. Specify when you are available (days and times during the week) and how often you would like to meet.

We will try our best to fulfill your request as soon as possible, however we often have a waitlist for tutoring, and we cannot guarantee that we have a tutor on staff for every subject.

We are currently only accepting requests for lower level (100-200 level) courses at this time.

If you have not heard from either our office or one of our designated tutors after 4 business days, please send an email to
academics_first@sfu.ca (please note: business days are generally Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, excluding public holidays and university closures). If the link below is not working, please email academics_first@sfu.ca.

If you have been assigned a tutor, you will receive an email with their contact information. Please reach out to them ASAP. If a tutor has tried to contact you twice, with no response, we will assign the tutor to someone else. We require that you notify your tutor if you can no longer attend a scheduled session due to illness. No-show's will not be tolerated and you may lose your tutoring privileges.

Please note that tutoring is limited to five hours total (which includes all of the classes you have a tutor for). If you require more than 5 hours of tutoring, you will need to contact the NCAA Program Coordinator at ncaa_adv@sfu.ca to set up an appointment to evaluate additional resources, and determine if more hours is appropriate.

Science and Math Peer Tutoring

The Department of Physics has organized free peer tutoring and update the schedule every term. This is a great resource!!
