Personal: Vanessa’s tendency to bounce around on her toes is a close resemblance to the Energizer Bunny. When she isn't hopping around, she likes to wind down with a large dose of Netflix. Her favourite movie is The Notebook and before games she likes to listen to a song from the Mulan soundtrack, “I’ll make a man out of you,” to get pumped up. When Vanessa isn’t at basketball, she can be found in her room crocheting scarfs and gloves for the long Vancouver winter. On or off the court, Vanessa’s bright smile and quirky giggle can change the mood of any room she steps into. Her hard working tendencies don’t stop on the court, but carry through to her academics.

High School: Vanessa attended Riverside Secondary where she was captain of the girls basketball team. In her grade 12 year, she averaged 12.2 points, 7.8 assists and 6 rebounds per game. This led her team to a commendable 7th place at the BC High School Championships. In her final year, Vanessa was awarded 1st Team All Star in the Telus Tournament, Top Ten Tournament and Fraser Valley’s, and had an honourable mention at provincials. 

University: Vanessa joins the Clan in the 2014-15 season as a red shirt freshman. Her hardworking nature and eagerness to learn sees her improve with every session. She is a spark of energy on our bench throughout games and can always be seen cheering at the top of her lungs. If Vanessa continues to develop at the rate she is now, she will be a force to be reckoned with in 2015-16.
