Biography
Guard Kyra Stewart led San Clemente high school to the South Coast League Division 2A Championship in her junior year where she was named to the South Coast All-League team. Throughout high school, the 5-foot-8 Stewart was a four-year starter. Besides success in basketball and being named a South Coast team all-league, Stewart was named female multi-dimensional athlete of the year. At Portola high school (prior to grade 11) she finished with a school-record in the high jump, long jump, and 300 m hurdles. On the club circuit, Stewart found success playing for club team CalSwish, traveling for the Nike Circuit competing in large tournaments such as Boo Williams, Battle at the Boro, and Nike Nationals. She was also invited by two McDonald's All-American selection committee members, Brandon Clay and Chris Hansen, to play on a national all-star team, the Brandon Clay Selects.During her high school career, Stewart posted career numbers of 11 points, 6.2 assists and 3.8 steals per game. Stewart is a downhill guard who likes to push the ball but can also shoot the deep 3. Defensively, she gets after it and will get to the floor or do whatever it takes to get the job done. She has a high motor work ethic.
Stewart is from California but she is a Canadian citizen, and most of her family lives in Canada.
