From Early Beginnings to University Dreams
Arman’s basketball journey began in kindergarten, inspired by her mom’s desire to keep her active and healthy. Arman’s mom enrolled her in camps at a private school, where she quickly developed a passion for the game. By grade 4, she was playing on the grade 7 team with her sister, gaining insight into the competitive world of basketball.
 
High School Highlights
At Panorama Ridge, Arman played from grades 8 to 12, setting her sights on university basketball from an early age. Despite exploring other sports like volleyball and field hockey, basketball remained her true calling. Her commitment to the game deepened as she polished her skills.
 
Developing Her Game
Arman’s shooting and competitiveness became her standout strengths. Overcoming early struggles with shooting form, she dedicated herself to improvement, often practicing even if it was with a broken hoop. Her drive to excel pushed her to continuously work on rebounding and shooting accuracy.
 
Career Accolades and Goals
In high school, Arman earned Athlete of the Year honors 4 out of 5 years, a testament to her talent. Now at SFU, she envisions the team climbing higher in the GNAC rankings.
 
The Recruitment Journey
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Arman sent recruitment tapes to coaches, eventually capturing the attention of SFU at their elite camp. Her determination led to a spot on the team as a walk-on.
 
Family and Support
Though her parents can’t attend every game, their support remains firm. Arman appreciates the freedom they give her to pursue her dreams. Living close to home allows her to maintain her family bonds while focusing on her goals.
 
Balancing Academics and Athletics
An aspect of SFU that stood out to Arman was for its academic offerings and in her locality. Arman balances her studies with athletics, drawing on her high school experience of managing multiple commitments.
 
Looking Forward
Known for her tenacity on the court, Arman plays as a key role player. Grateful for the opportunity to fulfill her dream of playing university basketball, she’s determined to make her final year impactful.
 
Through resilience, Arman embodies the spirit of a dedicated athlete, poised to leave a lasting legacy at SFU in her Senior year.
