Justina Chan – Markham, ON / Pierre Elliott Trudeau HS

Langford: "Justina plays for Trudeau High School in Markham, ON and club for North Toronto Huskies under Jeyson Edwards. She originally came from Hong Kong where she played for the U17 Rep Team under coach Kin Ho Koon. Justina has good touch on her shot and as a six-footer is able to extend the defense. She also led her league in blocked shots. Justina is a very good student so she will be a good fit for SFU."
Justina Chan will be coming to Burnaby Mountain from Markham, Ontario, where she will graduate from Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School in June. She grew up in Hong Kong and moved to Canada in 2015. The six-foot forward led her school to a second-place finish in the York Region Athletic Association Senior Girls Basketball league during the 2016-17 season and was honoured as the team MVP for averaging 25.5 points per game in her senior year. In addition to basketball, Justina was also a volleyball athlete and competed on the dragon boat team in high school.
"I chose to come to SFU because the University provides me with the unique opportunity that no other university in Canada can offer – to study at an academically renowned Canadian institution and to compete in NCAA Division II basketball," said Chan. "I also love the fresh air in Burnaby and the scenery surrounding SFU." Justina will be pursuing a major in Kinesiology in the Fall with the goal of becoming a physiotherapist.
