2021-22 Basketball - W Roster
Biography
Prior to SFU >
Kendal Sands was the team captain of the Dr. Charles Best Secondary team and earned multiple all-star nods during her senior year as she averaged 18 points per game to go along with nine assists, eight rebounds and four steals. The 5-foot-9 point guard was her school’s athlete of the year in 2016 and has been on the honour roll throughout her high school career. She is a calm and gritty player who has good court vision and is willing to work hard.
“I’ve been watching the women’s basketball team play since I was a young girl and I’ve always dreamt of playing on that court,” Sands stated. “I’m drawn to the friendly and welcoming atmosphere I get from the girls on the team and by the coaches. Being close to home is a bonus as my parents and family can come out and watch me play and SFU is also an amazing academic school so I get to be in a great Kinesiology program.”
Langford: "We are excited to add Kendal to our roster as she is a great student and works extremely hard defensively every possession. She sees the floor well and will fit our goal of playing upbeat and pushing the ball more.”
