Biography

In Fridman, the Clan are getting an athlete that boasts a gold medal from the Alberta Provincial Tournament where her team finished first in Division I and was also part of a fourth place finish at provincials. She has received the Purple Heart Award for exhibiting outstanding enthusiasm, drive, perseverance and athletic performance at the under-17 club level and in March 2014, she was recognized as the CTV Athlete of the Week while in junior high, she earned athlete of the year honours.
 
In addition to volleyball she is also an all-star high school basketball player and in grade 10 and 11, won the aggregate award at city track and field meets. She has won a gold medal at the Calgary javelin championship, owns a silver medal from the provincial championships and qualified for the Canadian championship in that event. Fridman has also won multiple cross country races and is a provincial qualifier in that sport.

Academically, Fridman has been on the gold honour roll every year of junior and senior high and has been award the Swift Award for academic excellence and leadership. She will come to SFU on the Gordon M. Shrum entrance scholarship and has received multiple Webber Academy academic scholarships. Fridman is also the organizer and a participant in the Shave for the Brave in support of Young Adult Cancer Canada.
