Biography

Simmons is a multi-sport athlete who has made the move west from Moose Jaw, Sask. A dynamic athlete, Simmons competed for Team Saskatchewan in volleyball and also won provincial high school medals in 2019 (bronze) and 2021 (gold) as a setter with A.E. Peacock Collegiate. In high school, Simmons was an honour roll student who was honoured with Highest Academic Standing status in her Grade 10 year.
 
Also a member of the SFU softball team, Simmons represented her home province in at the 2023 Canada Summer Games. A left-handed outfielder, Simmons won a provincial title in 2023 with her Moose Jaw Ice club team.
 
"I chose SFU because I connected well with the campus and coaching staff," says Simmons. "I've also heard great things about both athletics and academics at SFU. It being the NCAA school of Canada was very intriguing."
