Box Score Rapid City, SD – The Simon Fraser men's soccer team bounced back on Thursday night with a convincing 3-0 win over the South Dakota School of Mines.

SFU were led once again by captain Jovan Blagojevic who scored two goals in the game, improving his Great Northwest Athletic Conference leading total to eleven.

The senior midfielder had eleven shots on the night, seven of which were on goal.

The Clan first struck in the 13th minute, continuing their trend of early goal-scoring.

Mateo Espinosa put home his first of the season of a Ryan Dhillon pass to put the Clan up 1-0, a score that would stand the remainder of the half.

SFU had 12 attempts in the first 45-minutes and another 11 in the second half while the Hardrockers were only able to put together five shots on the night.

Clan goalkeeper Brandon Watson earned the shutout but was not forced to make a single save.

In the second period Blagojevic scored back-to-back goals in the 58th and 76th minutes, the first an unassisted opportunity and the second off a penalty kick.

The 3-0 score would stand the remainder of the game, but SFU could have won by a much larger margin were it not for the play of Hardrocker goalkeeper Braeden Federle who stopped 11 shots on the night.

With the win the Clan improve to a 2-2-2 record in the GNAC and a 4-3-2 overall record.

The Clan continue their tour of the Dakotas this Saturday as they travel to Bismark, ND to take on the Mary Marauders.

Kick-off is at 3:30 p.m.
