BILLINGS, Mont – No. 3 ranked California Baptist University outscored Simon Fraser University by 25 points in the second half to break open a tie game and win 79-54 in women's basketball action at the GNAC/PacWest Yellowjacket Challenge Saturday evening.
Simon Fraser and Cal Baptist were dead-locked at 34-34 at the half but the Lancers outscored the Clan 23-10 in the third quarter and 22-10 in the fourth to pull away for the victory.
Senior
Alisha Roberts scored 17 points on 7-of-16 shooting and guard
Ellen Kett and
Rachel Fradgley scored 11 points apiece to pace the Clan. Fradgley also pulled down 12 of the Clan's 30 rebounds. She was later named to the tournament all-star team.
SFU was out-rebounded 41-30 in the game.
Four Lancers finished the night in double figures led by Cassidy Mihalko with 18 points (7-for-13) and eight rebounds.
Saturday's game was the second straight loss for the Clan, who is playing five non-conference road games to start the season.
