BURNABY, BC – The Simon Fraser University softball home opener against UBC originally scheduled for February 24 at Beedie Field on campus has been re-scheduled to Tuesday, March 3. The double header will be played at 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM
at Beedie Field on campus.
Simon Fraser has started the season 7-5 after a 12-game road trip to Hawaii and Las Vegas to start the season.
Sophomore
Stefanie Sheard is leading the Clan offensively, batting .366 (15-of-41) with a .585 slugging percentage. She had six doubles and one home run and drove in 14. SFU averaged 6.4 runs per game hitting at a .312 clip. Freshman
Taylor Gillis, who put together a nine-game hitting streak, led SFU with 13 runs scored and stolen bases with six.
Senior pitcher
Kelsie Hawkins is 3-0 to start the season with a 2.56 ERA. Freshman
Alia Stachoski has a 3-1 record.
In addition, a double header against UBC originally scheduled for March 31 has been moved to April 6 at North Delta beginning at 1 and 3 PM.
