Second base
Taylor Lundrigan of Abbotsford is within reach of the record for most hits in a season by a freshman. Lundrigan leads the Clan with 47 hits, three short of the record 50 set by Angela Lichty in 1999.
Earlier this year Lundrigan and freshman
Taylor Gillis from Langley, BC, broke the freshmen record for At Bats in a season (134) held by both Lorissa Burns (1995) and Lindsay Chester (1996)). Currently, Gillis has 145 At Bats and Lundrigan 137 At Bats. Both should add to those totals this weekend.
Freshman pitcher
Alia Stachoski is enjoying a solid first season with the Clan on the mound with eight wins, placing her fifth all-time for wins by a freshman. Stachoski will have the opportunity to move past fourth place Kylee Ellis, who had nine victories her freshman year in 2009. She is also within reach of both Kathy Iggulden (1997) and Vicky LeBlanc (1992), who had 10 wins each their freshman seasons.
Erin Thomas holds the record of 17 wins set in 2001.
Stachoski has pitched 108 innings which is second all-time for a freshman behind only Thomas, who pitched 151 1/3 innings in 2001.
Simon Fraser, 17-26 overall, snapped an eight game losing streak with a 9-2 win over UBC in its last outing.
