ANCHORAGE – Senior guard
Michael Harper scored a game high 24 points but Simon Fraser University lost 96-83 to Alaska Anchorage in a men's basketball game Thursday at the Alaska Airlines Center.
The Clan (1-10, 0-5 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) got a game-high 24 points on 9-of-17 shooting and five assists from Harper, who scored 21 points in his last outing against MSU Billings. Harper is averaging 13.1 points per game this season.
The Seawolves (12-4, 5-0) never trailed and built a double-digit lead 11 minutes into the contest at 28-18. The Seawolves would lead by double figures the rest of the way, including a 52-37 halftime advantage.
AAU got 23 points and eight rebounds from junior guard Sekou Wiggs as they won for the sixth straight time and remain unbeaten in 14 all-time meetings against the Clan.
The lead stayed between 11 and 19 points the entire second half, with the exception of an 89-69 edge on Wiggs' basket at the 4:27 mark. The GNAC's leading scorer tallied 14 of his 23 points in the final 10:19 and has now scored 20-plus points 16 games in a row.

Gibran Sewani also hit for double figures with 11 (5-of-8 shooting).
The Clan played without its leading scorer, junior guard
Max Barkeley.
The Seawolf bench outscored the Clan 46-14, while UAA also earned a huge edge at the free throw line, making 27 of 33 (.818) to SFU's 9 of 11 (.818).
SFU shot 44.3 percent (35-for-79) from the field but made just four-of-18 three-pointers.
Simon Fraser is back in action Saturday against the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
