MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Simon Fraser football team lost 42-3 at Western Oregon Saturday afternoon in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference contest in Monmouth.
Sophomore placekicker
Kristie Elliott scored SFU's only points on a 28-yard field goal, as the Wolves held the visitors' offence in check.
The successful kick came with 4:21 left before halftime. Down 19-0, Elliott converted on her field goal attempt from 28 yards out. It capped off a drive that saw SFU (1-6, 0-3 GNAC) move the ball 74 yards on 13 plays.

Western Oregon (3-5, 2-2 GNAC) scored 20 points in the second quarter, and took a 27-3 advantage going into the mid-game break. The Wolves added another 15 in the third to put the game away.

SFU forced a missed field goal from WOU to open the fourth quarter. The team then took over possession and advanced the ball into Wolves' territory, but couldn't convert on a fourth-and-eight from the WOU 38-yard line.

For the fifth-consecutive game, senior linebacker
Griffin Barrett led SFU in tackles. He recorded nine solo, and four assisted ones against WOU. Junior defensive back
Kolby Buljevic and junior linebacker
Justice Kremler each had seven tackles (five solo and two assisted). Buljevic had one tackle for loss, as did senior defensive lineman
Isaac Evans.

Offensively, sophomore quarterback
Justin Seiber was 8 of 19 passing for 68 yards, while fellow sophomore pivot
Brandon Niksich completed three of 11 passes for 27 yards. Junior running back
Somto Anyadike rushed seven times for 24 yards.

Junior receiver
Robert Meadors had 36 yards on three pass catches, and 123 yards on seven kickoff returns.

SFU's final regular season game of 2021 will take place Nov. 13 at Central Washington in Ellensburg.
