Feliciano-Takafua, Prough combine for six pins and two titles

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Simon Fraser University wrestlers Taniela Feliciano-Takafua and Riley Prough made quick work of their opponents, winning their weight classes on the strength of three pins each against a field of 20 teams and many unattached wrestlers at the Mike Clock Open on Sunday.
 
Feliciano-Takafua claimed the heavyweight class and Prough took the 133-pound weight.
 
Feliciano-Takafua earned his way to the 285-lb weight class final with three pins and a sudden victory. He won a 7-3 decision over Kyle Richards (Clackamas Community College) in the final.
 
Feliciano-Takafua is unbeaten to start the season running his record to 9-0. It took him just 2:28 to pin his opponent in match 1, 50 seconds to earn a pin in match 3 and 64 seconds for the pin in match 4. His most difficult match in the tournament was his second when he earned a sudden victory over Hayden Still (Beaver Dam RTC) (SV-1 3-1).
 
Feliciano-Takafua has four pins and two technical fall wins in his nine wins this season.
 
In the 133-lb class, Prough went 5-0 with three pins, including in the final, a technical fall victory and a majority decision. In the final, Prough pinned Jovan Garcia (Southwestern Oregon Community College) in 83 seconds.
 
Prough is 9-1 to start the season with five pins and three technical fall victories.
