Monmouth, OR – SFU Women's Volleyball triumphed over the Western Oregon University (WOU) Wolves on October 3. The Wolves' fans assembled in WOU's New PE Building were howling in disappointment as the Red Leafs won 3-1, with set scores of 29-27, 21-25, 25-15, and 25-23.
The Red Leafs out blocked their lupinus rivals by an astounding 15-6. Among other highlights, SFU's
Eva Person had a double-double, 35 assists and a team high 17 digs.
Brooke Dexter led offensively with 16 kills, and both outside hitters
Davida Hill and
Jocelyn Sherman added 12 kills each.
"I thought our team showed some great composure in the first set coming back after being down for most of the game," noted SFU Volleyball head coach
Gina Schmidt. "After the second set, we were able to increase our service pressure which helped turn the tide. I also thought our blockers did a great job of following the game plan and making plays at key times."
The Red Leafs continue their road trip with a match again Saint Martin's University in Lacey, Washington on Saturday.
