Billings, Montana – Simon Fraser University's Volleyball team delivered a 3-0 sweep over the Montana State University Billings Yellowjackets on November 9, winning 25-15, 25-17, and 25-23.
Brooke Dexter led the charge for SFU with 14 kills, while
Macyn Unger anchored the defense with 16 digs, helping to shut down the Yellowjackets' offense at every turn.
SFU head coach
Gina Schmidt was impressed with her team's composure and focus, especially after a long travel day and a quick turnaround from Thursday's match. "I thought the team did a great job of staying steady and focused," Schmidt said. "We did a good job scoring from pin to pin, and when a variety of different hitters are contributing, it really puts pressure on the opponent's defense."
With a balanced attack and strong defense, SFU was able to stifle MSU Billings at every opportunity. The Yellowjackets struggled to find any momentum, falling in straight sets to a well-rounded SFU squad.
SFU is currently first in the conference with four games remaining in regular season.
