Game Recap: SFU Men's Soccer Defeats No.1 Western Washington 1-0

SFU Men's Soccer delivered a statement win this past weekend, toppling the GNAC's number one ranked Western Washington Vikings 1-0 on home turf.

The lone goal came from Koji Poon, who found the back of the net in the 75th minute. Poon's strike was one of five shots on target for SFU, who outshot the Vikings 15-12 in a tightly contested match.

Goalkeeper Jordan Thorsen stood tall between the posts, recording four crucial saves to preserve the clean sheet.

With this win, SFU improves to 5-8-3 overall and 4-3-1 in GNAC play, proving they can compete with the best in the conference. The team will look to carry this momentum into their next match as they take on Western Oregon on November 6 at 12:00 pm.
