SAN FRANCISCO – Cal State Dominguez Hills junior guard Nala Williams has been named the 2024-25 Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association Women's Basketball West Region Player of the Year. Williams was named the CCAA Player and Defensive Player of the year, guided her team to a 31-1 record and both the regular season and CCAA tournament Championship titles. Cal State Dominguez Hills, Central Washington and Alaska Anchorage each landed two athletes on the D2CCA West Regional Team. Central Washington's Sunny Huerta, APU's Kelly Heimburger, Alaska Anchorage's Tori Hollingshead and Alaska Anchorage's Emilia Long all join Williams on the First Team.
The members of the Second Team included Point Loma's Alli McDonald, Cal State Dominguez Hills' Asia Jordan, Montana State Billings' Dyauni Boyce, Simon Frasers'
Sophia Wisotzki and Central Washington's Asher Cai. The D2 CCA Player of the Year award and all-region teams are nominated and selected by members of the region's athletics communications staffs. The D2 CCA encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of high education. The D2 CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact NCAA Division II athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities. The five members of the All-West Region First Team will now be placed on the national ballot for All-America consideration. The All-America teams will be released Tuesday, March 25.
