SFU Cross Country delivered a strong performance at the Bill Roe Invitational, hosted by Western Washington on Saturday.
Senior
Rachael Watkins and freshman
Raiya Matonovich led the charge for the women's team, finishing first and second respectively. This is Rachael's second win of the season after placing first at the Biola Invitational last week.
Selin Tasdemir,
Veronica Dee, and
Dayna Thompson also competed with strong times placing 11, 21, and 26 respectively out of 96 athletes. Their efforts helped secure a second-place overall finish for the team.
On the men's side, senior
Benjamin Schoening broke into the top 10 with a time of 24:32.1. Notable performances were also had by
Peter Kunka (21),
Braden Ahl (30), and Jacob, Wadhwani (41), guiding the team to a fifth-place overall result.
Next up for SFU, the Dallas Baptist Old Glory Gallop in Fort Worth, Texas.
