2021-22 Basketball - M Roster
Biography
Jasdeep Singh – Delta, BC / Delta Secondary / Northwest University
Position: Forward
Height: 6'8"
Weight: 210
After a season playing for Northwest University in Kirkland, WA, Singh returned to BC and made an immediate impact for SFU in the GNAC. Putting up 11.4 points per game while shooting .517 from the field, Singh hit a career high 31 points against Western Washington on February 26, 2019.
Prior to SFU: Singh played high school basketball at Delta Secondary and his club/AAU for Drive Basketball. The six-foot-eight forward spent his first collegiate season playing for the Northwest University Eagles at the NAIA level. He started 25 games as a freshman, averaging 22.6 minutes a game. Singh recorded a .487 field-goal percentage, including 41.2% from beyond the arc, grabbed 4.5 rebounds a game and scored 8.3 points per game. In a game against South Oregon last December, he tallied a season-high 20 points in 39 minutes of floor time and picked up eight boards.
"Jas is a long and skilled forward. He has a strong interior game but can stretch the floor with his ability to ball handle and knock down the three. Jas' size and versatility will be useful for the many styles we see in the GNAC, whether it is guarding centers inside or stretch-forwards. He is a strong student who looks to transfer into the Beedie School of Business" - Steve Hanson, SFU men's basketball head coach
Why SFU? "I chose to come to SFU because it is a great school academically and has a strong athletic program. I also wanted to be closer to home so I am looking forward to this new chapter in my career as a basketball player."
