Kaden Hruska

Simon Fraser University Men’s Basketball is excited to welcome Kaden Hruska to the Red Leafs coaching staff as an Assistant Coach.
 
Kaden arrives at SFU after spending the past two seasons with the University of Alberta Golden Bears, where he worked under Coach Craddock as a Master of Coaching candidate. During his time with the Golden Bears, Kaden played a key role in contributing to the team’s success in the U SPORTS landscape.
 
Kaden’s coaching experience spans youth, post-secondary, provincial, and professional levels, bringing a versatile and holistic approach to the Red Leafs program. Professionally, he has worked with the Edmonton Stingers (CEBL), focusing on skill development, game preparation, and performance analysis. At the provincial level, Kaden has been heavily involved with Alberta Basketball, helping their U15 and U17 programs achieve multiple medals, and leading Alberta Summer Games teams and provincial comp-dev training programs.
 
Before his time in Edmonton, Kaden coached with the Ambrose University Lions (ACAC) and has contributed extensively to basketball in both Calgary and Edmonton. He served as the Vice President and Head Coach of Jr. Bears Basketball Club, developing athletes and implementing a Canada Basketball LTAD-aligned framework to the program. He has also previously directed the boys’ basketball program with the Calgary Basketball Academy and Head Coached at Bishop Carroll High School.
 
Kaden holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology (Leadership in Pedagogy & Coaching) from the University of Calgary and is in the process of completing his Master’s of Coaching at the University of Alberta. He brings a strong academic foundation in leadership, athlete development, and transformational coaching.
 
The Red Leafs are excited to have Kaden join the program as the team enters a new era under Coach Craddock’s leadership.
