Sean Shook, who started the men's basketball program at Quest University, joins head coach Steve Hanson as the lead assistant coach on the SFU Men's Basketball team.
 
Shook was head coach of Quest University for its first eight years, building the program into a perennial power in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association. He led the Kermodes to a 48-15 record over the last three seasons. In 2015-16, the Kermodes won a school record 19 PACWEST games and finished the season ranked fifth in the national poll. Shook was also Quest's Athletic Director.
 
Shook has been in the coaching profession for over 20 years coaching. Prior to starting the program at Quest, Shook spent four seasons as the Meridian HS Trojans head coach with District appearances in his last three seasons and a state tournament berth in 2003. Shook was named the WCL Coach of the Year in his final season with the Trojans. In addition, he also coaches at Ferndale High School (Ferndale, WA), Blaine High School (Blaine, WA) and with the American Basketball Association's Bellingham Slam.

Shook played his high school basketball at Ferndale High School where he was an all-league player and continued his career at Yakima Valley College (Yakima, WA). He was also a three year letter winner for the Golden Eagles baseball program, earning his Bachelor's Degree from Western Washington University.
 
Shook has been involved in the Basketball BC Provincial Team Program for many years and has also spent time working with Basketball B.C.'s Regional Training Centres.
