A transfer from NCAA Div. I, Roche was a revelation for SFU in 2018-19, leading the team in GNAC scoring with 13.4 points per game. The New Brunswick big man also finished the season as a top 10 conference rebounder (6.4 rpg) and shot blocker (0.9 bpg).
Roche was selected to the GNAC All-Conference Second Team and was a finalist for the Lorne Davies Male Athlete of the Year Award for a team sport.
Prior to SFU: Roche spent two seasons at Santa Clara, appearing in six games and averaging 2.3 points his freshman season after redshirting in 2016-17.
When he was 15, Roche began attending Proctor Academy in New Hampshire where he had an outstanding high school career. A three-year starter, Roche averaged eight points, 12 rebounds and nearly 5 assists per game during his senior season at Proctor, playing through injury. He averaged 14 points, 14 rebounds and 4.1 assists as a junior. Roche was an all-state selection as a sophomore when he averaged 14 points and 13 rebounds per contest. He averaged more than 3 blocks per game from his sophomore through senior seasons.
