Biography
Bailey averaged 16 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and three blocks, impacting the game at both ends of the floor his final season in high school. He has the ability to defend guards and forwards and is an excellent shot blocker and rebounder.
“Sam impacts the game in many ways with his ability to defend, score, block shots and his uncanny ability to track down rebounds,” said Hanson. “Playing for Coach Scrubb at Vancouver College has taught Sam to compete on every possession, value defense and do the little things to be successful.”
Bailey, who lived in Danville, California from 2001 to 2009, is a third generation basketball player and honour roll student at Vancouver College. He follows in his father Stewart’s footsteps to Simon Fraser and will relish the opportunity to compete as Canada’s only NCAA team. Bailey’s sister, Hannah, is currently in the Health Sciences program at SFU but Sam intends to study Criminology.
