Biography

Tate Christiansen signed with SFU from Handsworth Secondary School, and the 3D Basketball Academy club program, both of North Vancouver. An elite shooter with a high basketball IQ, Christiansen has been in love with the game of basketball since he joined 3D in the fifth grade. Christiansen's big frame, and strong shooting ability has led him to many all-star and Most Valuable Player awards throughout his youth career, including BC Champions League U18 All-Star, and BC Junior Boys Provincial All-Star (2020) recognition. Tate’s mom Karen (nee Brydon) played basketball for the University of Alberta from 1990-95 was team MVP in 1995 and his father Axel was a member of the 1989-90 UBC Thunderbirds basketball team while he completed his MBA.
