Brendan Shaw

After playing three years for Simon Fraser University and winning two GNAC Championships (’16 & ’17), Brendan Shaw joined SFU as an assistant coach in August of 2019. Brendan currently holds the prestigious UEFA B Coaching License through the Irish Football Association and is currently working towards his A License. 
 
The North Vancouver native is currently coaching within the British Columbia Soccer Premier League with Mountain United at the Youth Level as a Head Coach and Head Academy Director along with representing the BC Soccer Association as a Provincial Team Coach on the youth boys side. Brendan is also involved with the Vancouver Whitecaps as a Prospects Academy Coach at their Mainland Academy Centre for youth Boys and Girls. 
 
As a player, Brendan played with Mountain United in the BCSPL, the BC Provincial Team,  as well as the Portland Timbers U18s before moving back to play for SFU where his father and three other direct relatives also had their collegiate soccer careers. 
 
Brendan is an alumni of SFU with a degree in Business Administration through the Beedie School of Business concentrating in Human Resource Management and a minor in Curriculum and Instruction through the Faculty of Education.
