Biography

Rud was the co-captain of the St. Michael's Univeristy School Blue Jags, a team that won four tournaments including the Vancouver Island AA High School Championship and finished second at the BC AA High School Championship.

He averaged 14 points and 12 rebounds per game, leading his team in both categories.

Rud was named the most valuable player of the Victoria City Police Tournament and was a first team all-star at the Brentwood College Countdown to Playoffs Tournament. He was also named a Lower Vancouver Island Tier I League All-Star and was selected to the Vancouver Island Senior's Classic game.

A multi-sport athlete, Rud was a starter on the First XV rugby squad at SMUS that finished fourth in the BC AA championships and I played goal in the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League until January when he decided to concentrate on basketball.
