Ben Ta is entering his seventh season with the SFU women’s volleyball program. A former varsity volleyball athlete at Capilano University and the University of British Columbia, Ta has been involved in coaching beach and indoor volleyball for youth, adults, and high performance athletes alike. His experiences include assisting the senior women’s national team in 2017 alongside SFU head coach Gina Schmidt, assistant coaching for Team B.C. in 2018, working at the VCCE Academy in North Vancouver, and coaching various clubs and camps for Volleyball BC and other organizations prior to completing his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from UBC in 2022. Dr. Ben is currently a practicing dentist at an office in Port Coquitlam but in his spare time can be found playing in various levels of indoor, beach, and grass volleyball.
