Box Score Seattle, WA – The Simon Fraser University men's soccer team fell to No. 7 Seattle Pacific on the road Saturday night, losing 3-1 to the Falcons.
Similar to their past several games, the scoring opened early, as SPU would take the lead 1-0 in the 15
th minute off a header goal.
The Clan, coming off a 4-0 victory over the SMU Saints on Thursday would not let the early goal get to them as two minutes later captain
Jovan Blagojevic (Coquitlam, BC) would knock in a header of his own off a
Ryan Dhillon (Surrey, BC) pass, to make it 1-1.
The Clan would continue to press, but the Falcons would add two more goals in the 26
th and 34
th minutes, off long balls through the 18-yard box to make it 3-1.
The half would end with that score, but the Clan would return to the field with motivation, stringing together nine shots in the half.
The Flacon goalkeeper would make two saves to keep the Clan off the scoreboard in the second half and the game would end as the first half did, 3-1.
Blagojevic would have four chances in the game, while Dhillon and
Robert Hyams would add a pair of shots each, but the shots did not go the way of the visitors.
With the loss the Clan fall to 3-3-2 on the season and 1-2-2 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
SFU will look to bounce back on Thursday as they travel to South Dakota to take on the South Dakota School of Mines.
The game against the Hardrockers begins at 7:00 p.m. in Rapids City, SD.
