BURNABY, BC —The Simon Fraser University men's basketball team was outscored by Central Washington by 14 points in the second half and lost 84-64 to the Wildcats on Saturday afternoon in the West Gym.
SFU (2-22, 1-17 GNAC) has lost three times this season to the Wildcats (17-6, 12-6 GNAC).
Central Washington led Simon Fraser by just six points at halftime, despite outshooting the Clan by over 14 percent in the stanza.
That lead quickly turned into a nine-point advantage and grew to as many as 22 points in the second half where CWU shot 44.1 percent from the field and made 15 of 18 from the free throw line. For the game the Wildcats were 26 of 29 from the charity stripe that included conversions on their first 21 attempts.
SFU was 15 of 19 from the line.
Guard
Andrew Williamson led the Clan with 15 points on 5 of 15 shooting.
Senior
Michael Harper, playing in his final home game, scored 11 points on 4 of 13 shooting and had three assists and two rebounds.
The Wildcats were dominant on the glass, outrebounding SFU 41-29 with 15 of the caroms coming on the offensive end.
Defensively the Wildcats forced the Clan into 18 turnovers and converted the SFU miscues into 26 points on the other end.
