SFU Women's Soccer secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Montana State University Billings at Terry Fox Field last night. The win improved their season record to 11-2-2 (8-2-1 in conference play).
After a scoreless first half, SFU broke the deadlock in the 51st minute when midfielder
Kaiden Sherwood netted her third goal of the season. The decisive strike came off a well-placed assist from
Sofia Faremo. Both teams registered 10 shots, with four on target each. SFU dominated possession early, outshooting MSUB 8-5 in the first half, but the Yellowjackets held firm until Sherwood's breakthrough. SFU's goalkeeper
Sarah Loewen was instrumental in preserving the clean sheet, making four saves, including key stops in the second half.
