BURNABY, BC –Simon Fraser University upset nationally ranked and previously unbeaten Seattle Pacific Falcons 1-0 Saturday in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference men's soccer game on Terry Fox Field.
The victory brought the Clan's record to 3-2-3 overall.
Mamadi Camara scored the lone goal for the Clan in the 15
th minute. Teammate
Calvin Opperman dribbled the ball through the Falcon's defense and found a gap through which he worked the ball to Camara. Camara made good on this opportunity by hitting a solid strike past SPU 'keeper Cody Lang.
It was Camara's second goal in as many games after scoring a highlight reel goal on Thursday against Saint Martin's. SEE GOAL:

"The game had a grind type of result, it very well could have been a different story today," said Simon Fraser coach
Clint Schneider. "I'm glad they finished the chance they created, and we were pretty good in the back."
"Seattle Pacific made it difficult for us to play the way we wanted to, so we had to change things up a little bit."
Simon Fraser rode the momentum from Thursday's 4-0 victory over Saint Martin's, and now own a two game winning streak.
With tonight's victory, Simon Fraser is 3-2-3 (2-1-2 in the GNAC). This marks the first loss of the season for Seattle Pacific, now 6-1-2 overall and 2-1-2 in the GNAC.
SFU came close multiple times to adding to its lead.
Adam Jones and
Robert Hyams both had clean opportunities but unfortunately saw their shots sail wide left.
Simon Fraser's next opponent is Northwest Nazarene. The game is scheduled for October 8
th on Terry Fox Field beginning at 7:30 PM. Northwest Nazarene currently holds a record of 8-1-1, placing them first in the conference. SFU currently sits in 5
th place in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
Simon Fraser fired 15 shots towards Lang, forcing the Seattle Pacific goalkeeper to make four saves.
Brandon Watson, SFU's keeper, played a key role in the victory. He withstood a late attempt at a comeback, and was able to maintain his clean sheet. Watson faced eight shots directed towards the Clan goal and made 6 saves.
Watson now owns a record of 3-2-3 this season with three shutouts.
SFU took 6 corner kicks while the Falcons had 4.
