Simon Fraser University (SFU) Track and Field is excited to announce the signing of Zachary (Zach) Taylor, a promising middle-distance runner from New Hamburg, Ontario. Zach joins the Red Leafs with strong credentials and great potential for NCAA Division II competition.
Zach has made a remarkable mark as a youth athlete, clocking an impressive 1:50.90 in the 800 meters, the 11th fastest time in Canadian U18 history. This achievement stands as a highlight moment in his running career so far. With eyes set on reaching new heights, Zach aims to make the final in the 800m during his SFU tenure.
Choosing SFU was a thoughtful decision for Zach. "I chose SFU because it is the best distance running school in Canada and came highly recommended by my coach," he shared. "I also had a great time during my visit, and I wanted the NCAA Division II experience while staying in Canada." Zach is proud to represent his hometown of New Hamburg and his high school, Waterloo-Oxford District Secondary School, as he embarks on this next chapter.
Head Coach
