member of the SFU's charter football team in 1965, Dave Cutler is considered one of the greatest placekickers in CFL history.

hile at SFU, Dave perfected a straight-ahead, toe-punt kicking style that allowed him to be a greater offensive threat, and twice he kicked 51 yard field goals for SFU. He would later become the first CFL player to make a 59-yard field goal. 

 
Dave was drafted in the first round (4th overall) by Edmonton in the 1969 CFL Draft and he was a member of the Eskimos dynasty teams during the 1970s and 1980s which won six Grey Cups. 
 
A native of Biggar, SK, Cutler held virtually every professional football kicking record at the time of his retirement. He is a member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.
