Wayne Holm played football at Simon Fraser from 1966-69. In 1969 he was named SFU’s Athlete of the Year and to the Sports Canada All-Canadian College Football Team. In 1970, he was the first selection into the Canadian Football League’s Canadian draft, chosen by the Calgary Stampeders. In a four year CFL career, Holm played for Calgary, Vancouver and Toronto. He suffered a career ending knee injury in 1973. After his football career, Holm embarked on a successful career in the restaurant industry.
