point guard from Mission, BC, Teresa Gabriele was the driving force behind SFU’s success in both NAIA and CIS in the late 1990s and early 2000s, leading SFU to three national championship games.  
 
SFU lost NAIA national championship games to Oklahoma City, 72-55, in 1999, and, 64-55, in 2000. Teresa was a First Team All-Star and Hustle Award winner in 1999 and tournament MVP and NAIA All-American in 2000. 
 
A two-time All-Canadian in CIS, Teresa led SFU to a 35-0 record and the program’s first CIS national championship in 2002. In the final, SFU defeated Laval, 66-51, and Teresa was named tournament MVP. That season she scored a school record 45 points against Trinity Western. 
 
Teresa was a fixture on the Canadian National team, representing Canada at the 2000 and 2012 Summer Olympics.
