Sara Maglio was a four-time NAIA All-American during her time at SFU, a feat accomplished by few athletes over the course of their careers. As a freshman she won an NAIA title with SFU in 1996, and was the team’s leading scorer that season. She took the team back to the championship final in 1997 and 1998 seasons. Twice, Sara was an NAIA Championship tournament all-star and in 1999,
her final season, Sara was selected to play in the Senior Bowl

Sara went on to become a member of the Canadian U-20 National and Canadian National teams, making an appearance in the 1999 World Cup. Post-college, Maglio played for four years with the Vancouver Whitecaps, including the 2004 Championship team that was inducted into the BC Sports Hall of Fame.
