Nikki Johnson (1994-98) led SFU during its decade of dominance in NAIA, taking the Clan to three straight trips to the Elite Eight and the school’s first-ever Final Four.

forward from Niagara Falls, Ont., Nikki averaged 17 points and seven rebounds per game and Simon Fraser went 116-24 during her four seasons. As a senior, Johnson was at her best. Although SFU lost 66-63 to Southern Nazarene at the Final Four, Nikki was NAIA and WBCA Kodak Player of the Year. She became the first SFU player to play in the Honda All-American All-Star Game featuring top US college players from all levels.

"Nikki is the most complete player I ever coached at SFU,” said legendary Clan coach Allison McNeill.

Nikki
went on to play 10 years with the Canadian National team, winning a silver medal at the 1999 Pan American Games and representing the country at the 2000 Olympics.
